1871 provides opportunities for its members to grow their businesses and learn more about all aspects of running a technology startup from sales and marketing to PR and funding. Weave The People values being a member of the 1871 community and utilizes the opportunities provided to help nurture our business, really taking every opportunity to make the most out of our 1871 membership.
Growing our Team
1871 supports its startups by providing a recruiter, Laura Fendrich, to help us find exceptional talent to grow our teams. Laura recently helped Weave find our Director of Sales, David Bakker, in August. “ I reached out to 1871 because I was interested in continuing work in the startup scene,” says David. “1871 was very responsive and they set me up with Laura. In our initial conversation, Laura listened to my sales experience and recommended Weave amongst other companies, stating it was a very unique company. I would have never been here if it weren’t for Laura. She really made it happen, definitely a great experience for sure.” Laura has also helped us find another key member of our team: our new Director of Operations, Preya Patel!
Communicating Weave’s Message to the World
We were truly honored when 1871 invited Weave Founder and CEO, Paul Caswell, to attend a CEO Roundtable discussion with Illinois Congressman Mike Quigley during his visit to 1871 for Technology Startup Day. Additionally, while 1871 CEO, Howard Tullman, gave Congressman Quigley a tour of our facilities, Paul got the opportunity to share the mission and vision of Weave with the Congressman! Giving Back to the Community
One of our values is to serve and make a difference everyday. In an effort to give back to the 1871 community and to learn more about our fellow members, we created an 1871 weave! This weave highlights not only the startup companies of 1871, but also the wonderful people here that help make Chicago a unique hub for technological innovation. We are working with 1871 to launch a new version of this Weave. We’re looking forward to sharing this with the community – stay tuned!
